How it works

Registering your firm is a one-off, quick process. Applications are completed in the portal.

Step 1

Register your firm

This takes a couple of minutes; you don't need any client information at this stage. Once the form is completed a member of the Trust team will be in touch to set up your portal access.

  • One registration for everyone at your firm who will need to complete trust applications on behalf of clients.
  • If you are a Trustee Company, we will carry out due diligence on the company and its key individuals when you submit your first trust application.

This registration form is for firms who would like to complete trust applications on behalf of their clients. If you would like to simply refer clients to our Trust team, we'd be happy to discuss this with you, so please contact the Trust team.

If you are a Trustee looking to complete an application on behalf of your trust, please visit our Trust webpage.

Step 2

What you'll need to complete an application on behalf of your client

Is the Trust eligible for registration with HMRC?
Some trusts need to be registered with HMRC's Trust Registration Service (TRS) and as part of our application we do require the proof of registration document. If they are exempt from registration, please supply us with a certified copy of the trust deed or will.
The HMRC guidance on the types of trusts that require registration can be found here.

Frequently asked questions

The individual completing the application is signing it on behalf of the Trustees that are listed on the application.
This isn't a problem. If the trust hasn't yet been registered with HMRC, please upload a certified copy of the trust deed or will document plus any deeds of amendment. You can provide us with the TRS proof of registration in the future once the trust has been registered.
We do not charge any account opening or ongoing maintenance fees. We do ask for a minimum balance of £15,000 to be held on the Trustee Reserve Account; once that minimum is met, additional Trust Savings accounts can be opened.
We accept applications from bare, discretionary, life interest, interest in possession, vulnerable beneficiary, intestacy, personal injury and trusts created from a will or life insurance policy.
The firm registration form only takes a couple of minutes. Once completed, a member of our Trust team will be in touch to complete the process.

Timescales for opening the account depend on whether we receive all of the required documentation with the application. If we do, and all parties complete their electronic verification checks, accounts are open within a few working days. If we require further information, we will be in touch with the contact listed on the application.
